{"id":3480,"date":"2011-05-31T06:38:30","date_gmt":"2011-05-31T10:38:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thelifeliterary.com\/?p=3480"},"modified":"2011-06-21T06:30:47","modified_gmt":"2011-06-21T10:30:47","slug":"welcome-to-the-union-center","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.thelifeliterary.com\/?p=3480","title":{"rendered":"Welcome to the Union Center"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Life in and around the Union Center goes at its own pace, listens to its own music, lives by its own rules.\u00a0 A jarring combination of open and shut, welcoming and forbidding, not everyone is comfortable even visiting, not to mention moving in.\u00a0 A certain type is drawn here.\u00a0 When newcomers arrive by design or by fortuitous accident, everyone, residents and guest alike, knows right away if it&#8217;s going to work or not.<\/p>\n<p>The heart of Union Center is a zany, colorful, hustle-bustle kind of place where, to be perfectly honest, you never know what&#8217;s going to hit next.\u00a0 That&#8217;s the attraction for some, but what scares others off.\u00a0 This is no place for subterfuge or politicking.\u00a0 Unfeigned living and loving, giving and taking are the orders of the day.\u00a0 <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Though no one actually leaves the neighborhood, folks around here  change their clothes a lot, putting on sometimes their party, other times their workaday duds.\u00a0 Life here is never dull and the folks who live in and around  Union Center are glad when guests drop by, even unannounced.\u00a0 It takes a while to  appreciate the ebb and flow of the living here.\u00a0 To newcomers it appears  as if life happens in spectacular bursts, seasonal shows of glory  and color, interlinear shouts sandwiched between long, somnolent stretches of green or  worse, event-less grey and brown.\u00a0 Nothing could be farther from the  truth.\u00a0 Characters in the play interact and intertwine.
