Lighten!

Life’s too short
     to get so dreamy,
writing words
     all warm and creamy.

Easy getting
    over serious,
much of that
     you’ll get delirious.

Writing, living:
     keep enjoyable.
Too intense?
     It is a foi-a-ble.

Living, writing:
     better snappy.
Crack a smile,
     make ’em happy.

Why get caught up
     always heavy?
Write some light words,
     two, a bevy.

Headlines, deadlines
     discouragement?
Life’s a treasure,
     Heaven sent.

Here’s the message
     of this rhyme:
Don’t be serious
     All the time.

Take a minute,
     two or eight,
grin, smile, laugh,
     Adjust your fate.

Most of all:
     Solitary?  Feeble!
Spend more time with
     other people.

About literarylee

I sling words for a living. Always have, always will. Some have been interesting and fun; most not. These days, I write the fun words early in the morning before the adults are up and make me eat my Cream of Wheat.
